The first time I saw Nicola and we started chatting in a university class, I knew we would become good friends. Those few months that she did an exchange in Ottawa were some of my favourite times, we had the most fun. She taught me all the weird things Aussies say and I took her skating on the Canal. We did a lot of dancing and laughing and just had the best time together. We even took a bus to NYC on reading week, and went to Boston. Nic came and stayed with me and my family for a month a few years after that, we bought matching boots and she celebrated Canada Day with us. Then we met up in Italy in 2011 because we were both traveling at the time. She was there when the bird pooped on my head on the Ponte Vecchio and we walked up and down the million stairs from our hotel to the water in Positano. When she messaged me and asked if I wanted to photograph her wedding in Greece, I thought surely I must be dreaming. The couple days with Nicola, Conrad and their friends and family was so incredible. Every single guest was lovely and so happy to be there….even if it was a thousand degrees and everyone was melting. The island of Sifnos was quaint and comfortable and beyond gorgeous. The wedding day vendors were brilliant. Because of the heat, we decided to simplify the day and I don’t think it could have been better. Thank you again Nicola and Conrad for this amazing experience and allowing us to meet your family and be part of this celebration! xox
